In life, there will be those who lift you up and those who try to drown your dreams. But how you respond to all of them around you, will determine how you will soar. Be grateful for your doubters.
And I know this sounds strange. But I’ve had many in my life who questioned me. Colleagues, family, great friends, neighbors, even people who didn’t know me.

Now I could have let them in and welcomed their disbelief with open arms.
However, I learned very early on from my parents and grandparents– that’s not the way you show up for your dreams.
No one has the right to put out the spark within you.
So why not be grateful for your doubters?

Coco Gauff won the US Open, and her speech as a 19-year-old carried so much wisdom.
She said, “I want to say honestly, thank you to the people who didn’t believe in me. A month ago, I won a 500 title, and people said I would stop at that. Two weeks ago, I won a 1000 title, and people were saying that was the biggest it was gonna get. So like, three weeks later, I’m here with this trophy right now [US Open Women’s Champion 2023].
You know I’ve tried my best to carry this with grace, and I’ve been doing my best; so honestly to those who thought they were putting water on my fire, you were really adding gas to it. And now, I’m really burning so bright right now.”
