Google says that confidence is a feeling of self-assurance arising from one’s appreciation of one’s own abilities or qualities.
It also means the feeling or belief that one can rely on someone or something; firm trust.
You have the trust and belief in yourself. This is the confidence that we are discussing.
But can you have too much confidence, to the point you might miss something important?
- Like in a conversation
- In an opportunity
- In casual connection
I’m sure you have missed something in the past because of your confidence or security and belief in yourself.
Confidence can be a blessing and a curse.
Confidence needs to be balanced by a trio of actions committed by your heart and head.

You have got to be in it to win it.

Just because you think you know everything, doesn’t mean you do. Take heart and lean in with your head and balance your confidence.
- CURIOSITY. You want to learn and know more. You do that by inquiring and asking inquisitive questions. “The more curious you are, the greater your climb.” ~ Kristianne Wargo
- RESPECT. If you let your ego get in the way, soon others will lose you. People don’t want to be around know-it-alls. So have respect for others and also for the process of learning and growing.
- MOTIVATION. Something has got to get you up and moving for the day. If you leave your schedule to your confidence, no new opportunities will present themselves, because you won’t be looking. “Show up to level up!” ~ Kristianne Wargo
