A toast to you this Memorial weekend! Let’s get ready for a great weekend filled with family, friends and scrumptious food!
Enjoy simple recipes like hamburgers, bison burgers or veggie burgers. You can accompany them with hot dogs or sausage. Here’s a sample meal plan that is easy and tasty. Less stress for you and fun for the family!
- Hamburgers, Bison burgers, Veggie burgers
- Hot dogs or sausage
- Macaroni and Cheese
- Baked Beans
- Baby carrots, celery, broccoli, cauliflower with dips of your choice. (Ranch, peanut butter, etc.)
- Watermelon balls or triangles (let you kiddos help cut or scoop)
- Rice Krispy Treats (recipe below)
- S’more Treats (recipe below)
RICE KRISPY TREATS
- 6 cups of puff rice cereal
- 3 tbsp of butter, almond butter
- 40 medium size marshmellows
- Heat the marshmallows and butter of choice for 1 1/2 – 2 minutes. Marshmellows should double in size.
- Sitr in 4 cups of puff rice cereal.
- Add in the last 2 cups cereal and mix well.
- Spice up the treats with mini chocolate chips, mini reese’s pieces or mini m&m’s
S’MORE TREATS
- Graham crackers
- Marshmellow creme
- Mini chocolate chips
- Break the graham cracker in half.
- Spread the marshmellow creme on both halves of the graham cracker.
- Sprinkle the mini chocolate chips on.
- Make it a sandwich.
- Place in aluminum foil on the grill. Allow heat to melt.
