How busy are you today? This week? Are you running yourself ragged trying to keep up with the demands of the world? Women of IMPACT, we don’t make time to rest to rejuvenate. However, your health and well-being requires you to find rest when you’re weary.
Look at the word weary. It has the word “wear” in it as if we are to “wear” this feeling as a badge of honor. Like a cloak of goodness or righteousness that says we’re in it to win it!

How silly of us to think this.
Matthew 11:28-30 Jesus says, “Come to me all who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.“
Are you trying to wear this badge of honor — gaining self glory and self satisfaction, all the while sacrificing your health, energy, relationships, finances, etc.
“…and I will give you rest“
Jesus desires you to be rejuvenated. He wants you rested.
“Take my yoke upon you…”
The yoke connects the oxen together so they can plow a field. The meaning behind the phrase, “Be coupled with me. Learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart.”
“And you will find rest for your souls…”
Jesus understands you need rest for your souls.
So what are you doing to find rest when you’re weary? Are you still trying to do it YOUR way? Doing it your way will only cause you to be burdened more.
That’s what Jesus is saying. “For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” He desires to carry you. He desires to teach you. He wants you to bare no more than you can handle.
Find rest when you’re weary.
THOUGHT of the DAY: Speak aloud…
“I trust God with the heavy stuff while I live in God’s freedom carrying lightly. I rest in You today!”
