When you feel out of control, you begin speaking in circles. You say things that you don’t recall. You become SO passionate and intensity increases that your secretions begin flying. Can you relate?
Moms. Women. You have many challenges in front of you; trying to balance being a mom, a wife, running a business, keeping the household moving smoothly.
So how can you become in control when you feel out of control?
The K.I.S.S. ~ It’s not about right or wrong!
- Breathe. (Blood pressure is rising. Cortisol levels is in high gear. You are in fight/flight. Combat all of this will JUST BREATHE.)
- Address the situation without emotions. (When you feel out of control, we are attaching emotions to the issue.)
- Ask a question to clarify the situation/discussion.
- Give yourself a timeout/break.
- Be OK with not winning. There’s no winner!
John 16:33 “I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.“
