Habits are great if they serve you. However, making a routine when starting something new will help to create those habits.
When setting the routine, you are working on the middle of your habits. Those who have studied habits for years, find there are 3 R’s of Habit Change.
- Reminder (the trigger that initiates the behavior)
- ROUTINE (the behavior itself, the action you take)
- Reward (the benefit you gain from doing the behavior)
Routine is the practice of, the actionable behavior.
You must have the action to solidify the routine.
Think about how you put yourself on automatic pilot. Driving to work without putting any effort into it. When you are starting something new, it takes focus on the action you desire to take.
Drop the excuses! Own what is essential to making a routine when starting something new.
The K.I.S.S. ~ Focus on the action!
- Take A.I.M.
- Repeat the A.I.M. CONSISTENTLY!
