How many times have you held your tongue, only to regret that what should have been said could have been said when it mattered? In marriage, there are times when you need to cut to the chase and say it like it is.
In the world of marriage, communication is key. Knowing when to speak up and when to hold back can make a world of difference in a successful relationship.

With divorce rates showing that around 40-50% of marriages end in divorce, mastering the art of communication is more important than ever.
REFLECTION: How do you communicate with your spouse when arguments are on the horizon?
If you want to have an incredible marriage, you must have strong communication skills.
The K.I.S.S. ~ Enhance your communication skills!
Here are three tips for spouses to navigate communication effectively:
1. Timing is Everything: Knowing when to share your thoughts and feelings is crucial. If a hot topic arises and emotions are running high, it might be better to wait until both parties have cooled down before discussing it further. This allows for a more productive and constructive conversation rather than a heated argument.
“Timing is everything in communication. It’s important to choose the right moment to address important issues to ensure they are received well.” ~ Kristianne Wargo
2. Choose Your Battles Wisely: Not every disagreement needs to turn into a full-blown argument. Sometimes it’s better to let minor issues go in order to maintain peace in the relationship. Save your energy for the things that truly matter and can impact the health of your marriage in the long run.
“Pick your battles wisely. Not every disagreement needs to be turned into a fight. Focus on what truly matters to you both.” ~ Kristianne Wargo
3. Practice Active Listening: You cannot communicate or say you are communicating if you do not listen!
Communication is a two-way street. It’s important not only to express your own thoughts and feelings but also to listen actively to your partner. Show empathy, ask questions, and truly try to understand where they’re coming from. This can help prevent misunderstandings and show that you value their perspective in the relationship.
“Active listening is key in every conversation. Make sure to give your partner the space to express themselves fully and listen with an open mind.” ~ Kristianne Wargo
Research shows that couples who communicate effectively are more likely to have successful and long-lasting relationships. By implementing these strategies, you can navigate disagreements and strengthen their bond through open and honest communication.
Remember, in the journey of marriage, cutting to the chase with kindness and respect can lead to deeper understanding and connection between partners. So, don’t hold back – speak your truth, but do it with love.
“Communication is not just about talking; it’s about understanding and being understood in the most authentic way possible. Communicating is holding the heart while listening to their words.” ~ Kristianne Wargo
So what do you think? Time to cut to the chase?
“Be present. Be incredible. Be YOU!!!“
