How often do you find yourself muttering, “It’s not fair”? It’s not fair that you’ve got this body. It’s not fair that you have to work harder than others. It’s not fair that the scale is not your friend. It’s not fair.
But that’s not the life to live.

Yes, life is unfair. Who really wants to have to work hard at things? But in reality, that is how it is. Life is hard. Life is not fair.
YET–life can be AH-MAZING if you make the choice, and decide to take the next step, whatever that is.
So how’s that working for you?
Have you actually decided on moving forward toward healthy living? Or are you putting it off until another Monday? Be honest!
When you hear the echoes of “It’s not fair,” those are the moments of frustration, disappointment, and even defeat.
Failure does not need to happen before you even try.
Things may not always go your way, but how you respond to these perceived injustices in your head can define your path forward.
So, how can we shift our mindset from dwelling on what’s unfair to embracing the possibilities ahead?
The K.I.S.S. ~ Shift your mindset!
You have gotta shift your mindset in order for your thoughts to direct your behaviors, which then become your actions, eventually turning into your habits.
Healthy living habits are possible even when you think it’s not fair!
Here are three actionable steps to conquer the “it’s not fair” scenario lingering in our minds:
DO WHAT IT TAKES
1. Embrace Resilience: Instead of having these pity parties, build up your resilience to navigate through life’s ups and downs. Understand that setbacks are not roadblocks; setbacks are detours for comebacks and opportunities.
For instance, if you didn’t lose those two pounds that week, instead of dwelling on what didn’t work, recognize what did, and start from there.
“Giving yourself constructive direction in the decision of your detour will expand your conviction to move forward with consistency.” ~ Kristianne Wargo
BE GRATEFUL FOR WHAT IS
2. Practice Gratitude: You have to love your reflection. When you have moments of discontentment, you have to practice gratitude, which can shift your perspective toward positivity. Take time to appreciate the blessings in your life, no matter how small they may seem. It’s not about what you don’t have; it’s about what you DO have!
BE PRESENT IN YOUR ACTIONS
3. Take A.I.M. Rather than being paralyzed by the notion of unfairness, take proactive steps towards creating that healthy lifestyle you desire. Refine your goals, create a plan of action, and take incremental steps toward achieving them. Remember, progress is often born out of perseverance and determination.
“Life can be AH-MAZING if you make the choice, and decide to take the next step, whatever that is. One step at a time leads to miles of greatness!” ~ Kristianne Wargo
When you look at the heartbeat of your life, the ability to adapt, grow, and create your now helps you face the challenges that will come every day. But when the echoes of “It’s not fair” ring in the air, then you get to decide how you live your life and try. It’s not fair, but here is why change begins with YOU!
“Be present. Be incredible. Be YOU!!!“
