Now, it may not make it any easier to figure out the recipe to cook and shopping may still be a dreaded feeling you have to work on. Yet, what you cook brings nourishment to your family; it sustains their very life.

The K.I.S.S. ~ Details do matter!

I’m traveling right now, hanging out with my sweet daughter and grandson while my son-in-love is at military training for two weeks.

Well, she had this great idea that she wanted to paint her house again. Really, we just painted it about 2 1/2 years ago.

Anyway, she picked the paint based on what she thought would match. Long story short….It didn’t match. But for the first hour or so, she did the best she could to convince herself that it was good. She had purchased already 10 gallons. There was no way she could get a different color.

Me trying to be the mom that loves, and still uses teachable moments, I suggested she call the paint store and see what the options were to change the color.

As you know, I’ve moved a few many times and painted more walls than I care to admit. So off we loaded up the paint, lifting the 5-gallon buckets together.

When we arrived at the store, they did a color match from the size of a penny to match the color.

I drove as fast as I could to get us home to put down the little munchkin and test the paint.

My daughter had an appointment, so I stayed back. Now, I could have taken a nap too. But I wanted to see the color. So off I painted as fast I I could roll the brush. I wanted to surprise her.

She walked in, and there it was; the perfect match.

Details do matter.

What you do in your every day counts. Don’t take for granted all the little things. You are made for so much more.

Yes, you might be a little more tired, and your eyes might need a double washing to wake up.

However, don’t sell yourself short in the details. Let those details stretch your confidence, improve your focus, or give yourself a “that a girl” silent cheer.

Details do matter.

God made you with so many sweet and beautiful details. Do not take for granted what matters to God.
