Marriage is a partnership that requires mental strength and stability. For the sake of your marriage, build a strong bond through good communication. Love matters.
The way you do this is by enhancing your listening skills by staying alert and aware of your spouse’s needs.

As much as you want it easy, marriage takes work. And that work starts with good ears. That’s why you have two; be quick to listen.
Go back in time when you had a disagreement or argument. Would the situation have been different if either you or your spouse had better communication?
Most of the time, the answer is YES!!
Human beings are really strange. When we are listening, our ears quickly shut down because we’ve already moved to the resolution of the problem (situation).
The sentences are finished in your mind, but your spouse has yet to stop talking.
And we wonder why there are problems.
If we don’t listen within our marriage, what kind of relationship do we have? Not much of one.
For the sake of your marriage, let your ears be the strength to hear.

“Mental strength withers if the ears do not hear.” ~ Kristianne Wargo
With life’s ups and downs, you have to have a strong heart and a strong mind with ears to hear.
Here are ways to enhance your listening skills and strengthen your marriage:
1. Give Undivided Attention: One of the most important aspects of active listening is to provide undivided attention to your partner. This means putting aside all distractions such as your phone, television, and other distractions, and focusing solely on what your spouse is saying. Listen to their tone, facial expressions, and body language to gain a complete understanding of their perspective.
2. Practice Empathy: When listening to your spouse, put yourself in their shoes and try to understand their point of view. Understand that empathy requires patience, attention, and intent. Take time to ask questions and clarify any misunderstandings to avoid any unnecessary conflicts. Who really wants a fight anyways?
3. Respond Appropriately: Responding appropriately means acknowledging what your spouse said and responding in a thoughtful way. It’s crucial to show that you care about their thoughts and feelings, even if you don’t entirely agree with their perspective. Responding appropriately means taking some notes and finding room for change in an open and authentic way.
Listening is an integral part of communication that impacts the strength and well-being of your marriage.
Active listening ensures that both partners feel heard, validated, and appreciated. By following these three key actions, you can enhance your listening skills and cultivate stronger relationships with your partner through empathetic conversations.
Remember that the ears play an important role in the health and success of your marriage, so always be mindful of how well you listen.
