Many of us may not be fully aware of how our bodies function, what they need, and how to care for them. But when you know your body well, you can make informed decisions about your health and lifestyle.
Our bodies are remarkable creations that constantly work to keep us alive and healthy.

But because we are too busy, it’s easy to forget what we should be paying attention to — our bodies.
We do whatever, whenever, and later we find ourselves in the ER.
As I’ve been traveling lately, I’ve been reminded how awesome my body is when I treat it well.
But that’s the thing. I didn’t always treat my body well. I ate whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted it.
And guess what?
My body treated me back in the same manner; not feeling good, but only once in a while.
If you want to live a more vibrant life, you have got to know your body well.
The K.I.S.S. ~ Know your body well!
- Listen to your body: Your body sends signals all the time, and it’s essential to pay attention to them. If you feel tired, thirsty, hungry, or in pain, your body is trying to tell you something. Learn to listen to these signals and respond appropriately.
- Learn your family medical history: Understanding your family’s medical history can help you identify your risk for certain health conditions. Ask your relatives about any health problems that run in your family, and share this information with your doctor.
- Get regular check-ups: Regular medical check-ups can help you identify potential health problems early on. Make sure to schedule annual physical exams, dental check-ups, and other screenings based on your age, sex, and medical history.
- Track your health metrics: Keep track of your weight, blood pressure, cholesterol levels, and other vital signs. Knowing your health metrics can help you identify potential health problems and make lifestyle changes to improve your overall health.
- Eat good nutrition tailored to you: Your body needs a balanced diet to function correctly. Learn about the nutrients your body needs and how to get them from your diet.
- Manage your stress: Chronic stress can negatively impact your physical and mental health. Learn how to manage stress through techniques like meditation, deep breathing, sleep, rest, activity, and exercise.
- Trust yourself: Only you know your body best. Your intuition can often tell you when something is not right with your body. If you feel something is off, listen to your gut and seek medical advice.
One of the greatest gifts you can give yourself is making time to know your body well.
Make the time. Be intentional with your awareness. Don’t assume you fit in the average.
You are unique and only you can know your body well.
