There are many storms in life.
Life is busy and hectic. Unfortunately, our marriages take a back seat to our responsibilities.
As time goes on, the romance can dwindle, which leaves couples feeling disconnected and unfulfilled.
However, you don’t have to accept that as truth for your marriage.
With a little effort, it’s possible to rekindle the spark and reclaim the romance.
The K.I.S.S. ~ Reclaim the romance!
Romance does not happen by chance. After a long day at work, taking care of the kids, and handling the household responsibilities, you’re going to be tired and wanting to chill out.
But part of your chilling out can include your spouse in many ways, and that means romantically.
- Schedule date nights
One of the biggest challenges for couples with busy lives is finding the time to spend together. By scheduling regular date nights, you can prioritize your relationship and make time for each other. Whether it’s a fancy dinner or a simple walk in the park, spending quality time together is essential for keeping the romance alive.
- Be creative and keep it fresh
If you’ve been together for a while, it’s easy to fall into a rut. To keep things fresh and exciting, try to come up with creative ideas. For example, you could take a cooking class together or go on a weekend getaway to a new city. The possibilities are endless, so don’t be afraid to try something new.
- Communicate openly and honestly
Communication is the foundation of any successful relationship, and it’s especially important when trying to reclaim the romance. Be open and honest with your partner about your feelings and needs. Talk about what you miss in your relationship and what you would like to see more of. By having these conversations, you can work together to create a more fulfilling relationship.
- Show appreciation and affection
It’s easy to take your spouse for granted when life gets busy, but showing appreciation and affection can go a long way in keeping the romance alive. Take the time to say “I love you” and show your partner that you care. Small gestures like holding hands, kissing, or leaving love notes can make a big difference.
- Take care of yourself
Finally, it’s important to take care of yourself. When you feel good about yourself, it’s easier to be present and engaged in your relationship. Make time for self-care activities like exercise, meditation, or a relaxing bath. When you prioritize your own well-being, you’ll have more energy and love to give to your spouse.
Reclaiming the romance in your relationship takes effort, but it’s well worth it. Remember, a little effort can go a long way in keeping the romance alive!
CHALLENGE: How can you serve your spouse romantically?
PRAYER: May you accept the challenge of loving your spouse as God loves you. As the roller coaster of life twists and turns, share your heart with the one you said, “I do,” too.
“Be present. Be incredible. Be YOU!!!“
