Success leaves clues.
It’s the new year! And that’s the beginning of new year’s resolutions. We set what we hope to accomplish at the beginning hoping to strive and push through to the end.
But pushing doesn’t always have to be the answer.
If you want to live healthy lives, it’s important to follow the examples of those who have done it before. You can study their habits, their routines, and the things that they do on a daily basis.
Follow the leader!

One key habit is regular exercise.
The benefits of exercise are well-documented and include a lower risk of chronic diseases, improved mood, and a stronger immune system. But it’s not just about the physical benefits – regular exercise can also help us to honor God with our bodies by keeping them in the best possible condition. So when you think you’re having a cheat meal, think again.
The second key habit is nutrition.
We are called to nourish our bodies with healthy, nutritious foods (Proverbs 31:17) and avoid overindulging in things that are harmful to us (1 Corinthians 6:12). A diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins is essential for maintaining good health and preventing chronic diseases.
Thirdly, you have got to get enough rest and manage stress.
God has commanded us to rest, both physically and spiritually (Exodus 20:8-11, Matthew 11:28-30), and it’s important to make sure that we are getting enough sleep each night and taking steps to manage stress in our lives.
Ultimately, living a healthy life is not just about our physical well-being – It’s about knowing whose we are, and glorifying God with our bodies by being good stewards of the gifts He has given us.
You get to choose how you treat your body. You can follow the ways of the world and eat crap food and indulge in sugar beyond the capacity of your body to detox it.
However, if you choose to follow the leader, you’ll find that success leaves clues. And that’s when you can learn new habits and routines or retrain your mind to do what’s best for your life.
The Bible is full of wisdom and guidance on how to live a healthy life. You are called to honor God with your body by taking care of yourself. Loving yourself, because God loved you first.
So when it comes to healthy living, we should remember the wise words of Proverbs 13:20 – “Walk with the wise and become wise.”
Remember, success leaves clues.
PRAYER: May your nutrition and intentional movement honor who God created you to become. Let rest prepare you for the long days and short nights. Take care of yourself so you can love others deeper, just as God loves you.
