What you do is not who you are, and neither are your failures. Be cautious not to equate your value to your achievements. Your worth is not in your success.
Did you have a minute to watch the College Football Championship game between Georgia and TCU?

If you watched any part of it, you probably wonder why TCU was even in the championship game. However, if you watched them over their entire season, you would understand the why behind the failure last evening.
Too much emphasis is put on our successes, those achievements and accomplishments, and NOT who we are. We equate everything to the wins and leave the failures to define us more specifically.
Think about when you were in high school. Maybe you weren’t so strong in science on the test, but could rock any lab and understand it fully.
Does that make you less worthy or unsuccessful? Maybe, if it affects your college admissions.
But the statement still remains.
The K.I.S.S. ~ Your worth is not in your success!
When we look at worth from a heavenly perspective, worth becomes a totally different definition.
One of the most powerful passages on this topic is Philippians 4:13.
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” ~ Philippians 4:13
This reminds us that no matter the challenges we face, or how much success or failure we encounter, we can find strength and confidence not in ourselves, but in Jesus. It’s of God’s doing, not of our own.
But it’s important to understand that our worth is not tied to our success or failure. You and I are created in the image of God.
“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” ~ Psalm 139:13-14
You are uniquely and beautifully made by God. Your worth is not dependent on your achievements or circumstances.
TCU is not less than of a team or as individuals because they lost the championship game. And Georgia is not better because they won.
Now, if we were to look solely at the execution of football skills, then Georgia was better last night. But at the end of the game, Duggan and Bennett are still incredible individuals with talents beyond what we saw on the field. And that goes for all the players and staff last evening.
Don’t confuse what the world sees in you with who God has created you to be.
Your worth is not in your success.
PRAYER: May your eyes be opened to the gifts and talents given to you by God. As you focus on your daily activities, don’t forget whose you are. Stay close to the truth God holds for you.
