Change is difficult and scary, but also necessary for growth and transformation. Seek guidance from God and follow His plans, for He is the heart of change.
How was the first week of your new year? Did it all go as planned? Did you have a few mishaps? Or maybe you just blew everything out of the water.

Well, one thing you can count on every day, every month, of every year is change. Change is a constant.
And it’s not one most of us like to deal with. Habits are much easier and take less energy. Why do you think eating the stuff you aren’t supposed to have comes easy?
But in all seriousness. We can make positive changes regardless of what’s happening around us. It won’t come easy, but it will come.
As believers, we know God is the source of all love, wisdom, and goodness. He created you on purpose for a greater purpose. He desires you to live a fulfilling and meaningful life.
But unfortunately, our own desires and choices can lead us astray from God’s plans. You may get stuck in negative patterns of behavior, thinking, or relationships that hold you back and keeps you from becoming your best selfie.
In preparation for the new year and this new season, we must accept and adopt the heart of change.
The K.I.S.S. ~ The heart of change!
To experience true and lasting change, you have to go to the heart of the matter; and that’s the connection with God.
“Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me” (Psalm 51:10).
- Invite God into your every day and connect with Him. You can do this by praying and reading the Bible. Listen to His voice. Discern His next steps for you, and be encouraged through His guidance. Meditate on His Word, so He can teach you, convict you, and give you the courage and strength to change.
- Ask for forgiveness. The Bible says, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9). When you acknowledge your mistakes and ask for God’s forgiveness, you open yourself up to His mercy and grace. This gives you the freedom to let go of the guilt, shame, and regrets that weigh you down and hinder your growth.
- Surround yourself with a community of believers. Who you hang out with has an influence over you. Seek out friends, mentors, and church members who walk with God, so you can receive encouragement, accountability, and gain wisdom as you navigate the changes you want to make. We’re better together.
- Take A.I.M.! Change often requires you to take the next step. “One step at a time leads to miles of greatness!” ~ Kristianne Wargo God doesn’t take these steps; you have to. Dream your dreams, set goals, and make preparation to plan for what’s to come. Trust that God will give you the wisdom and resources you need to take the next step.
Change begins in the heart – So you need to be willing to seek God’s will and His desire for you. When you allow God to work in you and through you, you can experience the transformation that only God can bring.
So be courageous and trust in Him, knowing that He is the heart of change.
PRAYER: May your heart accept the challenge of feeling different. There is peace and power in the presence of God. So stand tall because God knows all. Take the stones that people throw at you every day, and create something beautiful in God’s way.
