Regardless of what that means to you, God’s got plans for you! And the way God sees things, nothing is impossible.

All the more reason why you need to anticipate the unexpected.

When you think about it, you setting expectations for yourself only puts you in a box. It sets you up for more failure than success.

What happens when you don’t achieve what you desire? Do you treat it as a lesson learned or a failure?

For me, even though I do my best not to, I feel like it’s a failure. I turn against my own goals and wonder why I didn’t do better.

Expectations slow down your progress.

You must remain present and focus on what matters.

Jeremiah 29:11 “I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future.”

Things might mess up because it’s not meant to be. And pushing harder to make it possible isn’t always the right action.

Instead of calculating and assuming what’s to come, know that God has gone before you. Hang tight to your faith.

God’s got you!

And if you are in the middle of a mess, remember to look for the blessings. They might be disguised.

So stop limiting yourself. This is the start of a brand new year. Make a choice to accept the change to connect to what matters as you anticipate the unexcepted.

PRAYER: May your nights be restful so your days can be fruitful. No challenges that happen go unnoticed. Rely not on your own strength, but be consumed by God’s strength. In preparation for this new year, don’t forget what matters to your heart. All you have to do is be ready to start. Anticipate the unexpected.
