But is that how you start your mornings? Do you jump out of bed in a hurry with the snooze alarm repeating itself for the third time only to have the rest of the day follow suit?

I can remember those days dreading the morning alarm demanding my attention to get out of my warm snuggly bed.

Yet you and I are called to arise and wait expectantly.

David was a man of prayer after God’s heart. He prayed with order and expectation; not his expectations but looking for God’s answers.

Morning by morning he would rise up and pray with assurance that God would make a way.

Day by day he experienced God’s mercies that are new and fresh every day. No scorekeeping, only praise for a God who knew him and heard him.

Moment by moment David praised God for what He gave and what was to come. He waited expectantly like a guard on a watchtower knowing that God would reveal Himself by the answers He shared.

Evening by evening David rested knowing that God would make a way and trusted his steps would be guided by God’s Word like a lamp unto his feet.

The K.I.S.S. ~ Wait expectantly!

What would happen if you become more like David?

What if you spent two minutes at a time with God three times a day with the order and faithful cry of hope, help, and praise all the while waiting expectantly?

How would that change your day? How would that change your life?

God desires us to be present with Him.

Instead of demanding your needs be met on your timetable, come to God with an open heart.

May your prayers include:

• adoration and praise,
• agreeance to follow God’s will for your life,
• a petition of your needs,
• yet confession of your shortfalls,
• and gratitude for the guidance of what’s to come.

In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly. ~ Psalm 5:3

Let your heart not be troubled, for God is with you! (John 14:1)

Walk by faith and wait expectantly.
