When you are two ships passing in the night, does your relationship benefit from it? Absence makes the heart grow fonder. Or does it?
How busy is your schedule that it keeps you apart from your sweetheart?

It seems life can throw twist and turns in our relationships. Decisions are made as to what needs to be done first, or whatever fire needs to be put out.
Everyone clamors for your attention. The children want you. The bills need your attention. Your spouse waits impatiently.
No matter how hard you try, with each step you take, you are going backwards in getting to what really matters.
“Ships that pass in the night, and speak each other in passing, only a signal shown, and a distant voice in the darkness; So on the ocean of life, we pass and speak one another, only a look and a voice, then darkness again and a silence.” ~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (Tales of a Wayside Inn)
At one point in your relationship, all that mattered was spending time together. And now, you are two ships passing in the night; a glance, a silence.
Why is it that when you were dating, all you could do is be together. But fast forward to today, and all you are is apart.
For some, this might be what keeps them together, because too much time together would cause more rifts.
So where is the balance? How can you be so far apart, yet together?
Absence makes the heart grow fonder.
The K.I.S.S. ~ Absence makes the heart grow fonder!
Instead of beating yourself up about your schedule and focusing on how much time you are apart, dwell on each other when you are together.
The focus doesn’t always have to be about being separated.
Time is what you make it. So you can choose to fill it with the fire of the world, or you can choose to ignite what matters to you.
And if that includes your spouse, then make it happen.
- Clear your schedule to reflect your dedication.
- Give your heart, not an “attitude”.
- Communicate with loving intention in the absence.
“Filling up your day with stuff that really doesn’t matter, creates trash in your heart.” ~ Kristianne Wargo
“Absence takes intention to fill a lack of presence.” ~ Kristianne Wargo
